The comprehensive win last week meant that the Davyhulme Park first team came into this game full of confidence. The opposition had their own plan though, entering the home fixture with a 100% record and the confidence to match.
3″ Goal L Burke Assist R Burke
Davyhulme Park were aware of Greater Manchester’s biggest threat coming into the game, and their fears became reality.
A driving run down the left side from Hanlan, saw the Greater Manchester right full back take him down as he broke into the box. The referee rightly pointed to the spot. Nathan Sharples stepped up, sent the keeper the wrong way and put the ball in the bottom left corner.
Just before half time, in the 44th minute and in almost identical circumstances, Hanlan again had the ball inside the Greater Manchester box. Excellent quick feet and the referee was once again pointing to the spot. Sharples was once again happy to step up and take the penalty. The keeper was sent the wrong way for the second time, with Sharples putting the ball in the top right corner.

66″ Goal N Sharples Assist L Burke
A goal of the season contender to put the game out of Greater Manchester’s reach in the 68th minute. Jack Irlam picked the ball up on the right side from a quick Davyhulme Park throw in. He picked out Partington, after he’d peeled off at the back, he then struck the ball first time on the volley straight into the top left.
